Proving your worth(y)
Why do we do this?
Why do we feel the need to prove our worth - or prove that we deserve something?
Why can’t we simply desire something… and go after it because we want it?
Not because we’ve earned it.
Not because we’re worthy enough of it.
And when we don’t quite get what we were seeking, we turn it inward. We question ourselves. We feel less worthy.
You can see the cycle we so often live inside.
Astrologically, this pattern is deeply connected to Saturn and 2nd house energy - the parts of the chart that speak to self-worth, value, safety, and the stories we carry about what we’re allowed to have.
Saturn and the Voice of Self-Doubt
Saturn is often misunderstood.
Yes, it’s the planet of responsibility, structure, and commitment - but before it becomes wisdom, it often shows up as self-doubt.
Saturn’s voice sounds like:
You need to earn this first
You’re not ready yet
Who do you think you are to want that?
It’s subtle. Persistent. And because of that, we often mistake it for truth.
When Saturn is active in our chart - by placement or transit - we can feel like our worth is conditional. That we must prove ourselves before we’re allowed to desire, receive, or expand.
The 2nd House: Where Worth Becomes Personal
In astrology, the 2nd house is where worth becomes tangible.
It reflects:
what you value
what you believe you’re worthy of receiving
your relationship with money and resources
and, more deeply, your sense of self-trust and safety
When 2nd house energy is unsettled, worth becomes something external. We start measuring ourselves through productivity, income, validation, or outcomes.
And when those things fluctuate - as they always do - our sense of worth fluctuates with them.
Claiming vs Proving
This is why the distinction between claiming and proving matters so much.
When I entered the photoshoot I won (photos coming soon), I didn’t say:
I deserve this
I need this to feel good about myself
This will make me feel worthy
I said: This is mine. I’m claiming it.
What I was really claiming wasn’t the prize - it was my right to take up space.
And if I hadn’t won? It wouldn’t have mattered. I was ready. I would have booked a photoshoot anyway.
That way of being didn’t come naturally. It took time. It took unlearning. Very Saturn.
Uranus in Taurus and the Redefinition of Value
This conversation about worth is especially relevant now, with Uranus moving through Taurus.
Since 2019, Uranus has been disrupting long-held beliefs around safety, stability, money, and value. Both personally and collectively, we’ve been asked to question what actually feels secure - not what we were told should.
Uranus doesn’t gently tweak. It wakes us up.
As Uranus moves through the final stretch of Taurus, we’re being asked to reassess:
what we value
how we resource ourselves
what foundations we’re building from
and whether our sense of worth is internally anchored or externally driven
This isn’t about blowing everything up. It’s about liberation from outdated definitions of value - especially in business.
When External Factors Set the Worth Thermostat
When we’re not grounded in our own worth, external factors step in.
Family. Business results. Work. Money. Social media. Even the weather.
We usually know we can’t control these things. And we often know it’s our reaction that matters most. But when we’re not aware, these influences quietly reset our self-worth thermostat.
Astrology helps us notice this - not to blame the stars, but to become conscious of the patterns we’re living inside.
Saturn’s Deeper Lesson
Saturn isn’t here to punish you.
It’s here to mature you.
And one of its deepest lessons is this:
Worth isn’t earned
Desire doesn’t need justification
Taking up space doesn’t require permission
For creative business owners especially, this work is ongoing. Our businesses evolve as we do. And sometimes the most important shift isn’t external - it’s the moment we stop proving and start trusting.
So let this be the reminder:
weekly, daily, hourly - even right now.
You are worthy.
Full stop.
Astrology gives language to experiences we’re already living. When questions around worth, sustainability, or visibility begin to surface, it’s often a sign that something is ready to evolve.
